Included In Your Tour

Camp in forest The services of a professional, qualified Sea Kayak Guide along with the communication and safety equipment they carry. Our guides have multiple years of experience, the vast majority of them are either native to the North Island or have been living here for many years. They are well versed in the local fauna and flora but are not infallible. Each tour carries a library containing books of local wildlife, plants, local natural and aboriginal history.

Your guided kayak tour includes all meals as described in the Itinerary. Our guides prepare delicious, healthy and nutritious meals from the freshest of ingredients. With advance notice at time of booking we can usually accommodate all dietary preferences and are experienced in cooking for allergies. You will not go hungry while kayaking or in camp.

To drink we supply tea, coffee, water, juice and other soft drinks; Please note that as we are in the wilderness and help can be far away we do not provide any alcoholic beverages.

We provide you with paddles, personal flotation devices (lifejacket) and a paddling jacket. Pogies are available to help keep your hands warm on some of those colder days.

Most guests paddle safe, stable, tandem fiberglass kayaks for the duration of the tour, however for those with proven self rescue skills we do have single kayaks available. Our kayaks have the capacity to take all the food, water, camping and kitchen equipment we need along with the supplied Dry Bags containing your personal gear.

Your camp equipment includes a Tent to sleep in and a Thermarest self-inflating mattress to sleep on. Our tents are mostly of the two person all season variety however for family groups we do have some larger units. We do not typically provide sleeping bags for our guests as the majority of people seem to prefer to bring their own. With advance notice, we can however make arrangements to provide them.

We have a patrolled parking lot in Telegraph Cove, adjacent to our boat launch and store where we provide Free Parking for our tour guests - Unload your gear at the waters edge and park within a 30 second walk!
