Q. Do I need to Reserve or Book a Kayak Tour?
A. The short answer to this is Yes. For 2 Hour and Half Day Tours we will typically be able to find space for you on most days but suggest you call ahead to avoid disappointment. For Day, overnight and longer Kayak Tours you need to Book in advance.
Q. How do I Book a Guided Kayak Tour?
A. The menu on the right will take you to ourKayak Tour Booking & Inquiry Form. Please complete it as fully as you can and submit it to us. We will contact you typically in less than 24 hours with responses to your questions. Alternately give us a call at the numbers shown on that page.
Q. What does it cost to Book or Reserve a Kayak Tour?
A. A deposit equal to 50% of the Kayak Tour Price is required to reserve your Tour until 30 days prior to departure, when the balance is due in full.

Q. What if I need to Cancel my Kayak Tour?
A. We understand that sometimes plans need to change. Please read and understand the following cancellation and delay policy.
There is a $30 per person administration charge applied to all cancellations. Upon receipt of written notice of cancellation, the balance of your trip fee will be refunded according to the following schedule:
 60 days or more:Full Refund less $30 Administration Charge per person
 31-59 days:Deposit Not Refunded
 30 days or less: No Refund
Q. What if I am delayed at the start or end of my Kayak Tour?
A. Both on launching and on return, if the trip is delayed due to bad weather, cancelled or delayed flights or delays with other modes of transport, sickness or other situations for which North Island Kayak cannot make provision, extra costs arising from the delay are not included. While we make every effort to accommodate delays and cancellations, we strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance to cover any costs, which may be incurred by you due to our cancellation policy.
Q. Will you work with me if I need to change my Kayak Tour dates?
A. While we will strive to be offer flexible options wherever possible, any such delays are the responsibility of the participant.
Q. Will you cancel my Kayak Tour due to lack of participants?
A. No. If we book a Kayak Tour we will not cancel it due to lack of participants, nor will we charge you a surcharge as some companies are inclined to do.
Q. What about bad weather?
A. If we have to cancel a Kayak Tour due to bad weather, you will be refunded. Occasionally we may have to delay the start of a Kayak Tour due to bad weather, however the weather always gets better!. We do not provide refunds if the start of a Kayak Tour is merely delayed.
Q. What do you consider bad weather?
A. We constantly monitor the weather forecasts that influence the areas of the Tours. The main weather feature that will cause delay or cancellation is wind. If it is too windy to safely paddle, we do not paddle. Rain is not bad weather!
