Our location in the heart of Telegraph Cove on the north of Vancouver Island provides you
the opportunity to take a sea kayaking day tour of 2 hours, 4 hours or 7 hours out into
Johnstone Strait and the world renowned Realm of the Orcas. Our day tours are suitable
for just about anyone and provide an opportunity to experience sea kayaking with Killer
whales or Orcas, Humpback whales, Minke whales, black bears, sea lions, dolphins, porpoises,
eagles, salmon and seabirds plus a whole menagerie of inter-tidal critters in their
natural, spectacular, wilderness environment. What wildlife we see on day tours very much
depends on the day and the time of year, as these are wild creatures and we have a
limited time on the water. The spectacular scenery of the area is always there and we do
have many 2 hour, half day and day tours every summer where we have spectacular wildlife
encounters.
For your safety and comfort we use safe, stable two and three seater kayaks on our day tours.

As Killer whales, sea lions and bears are the top predators in their environment, the chances of seeing them are mostly a factor of how long you spend in their world.
We know they are out there, but whether they are close enough for us to get to them or if they choose to come to us can be unpredictable.
Fortunately, while maybe not as exhilarating as the big mammals, there are many other critters and spectacular sights that we can find every trip.
Our day tours are designed to be suitable both for kayakers and non-kayakers, the emphasis is on fun and being out on the water. Obviously if the killer whales or other large critters are in the immediate area, we will focus on getting you the best encounters with them that we can. Our professional sea kayak guides carry VHF radios that keep them in constant contact with our other sea kayak guides who may be out on multi-day trips, the captains of the various whale watching boats, water taxis and fishermen who may be out when you are. This allows us to show you many of the other inhabitants of the Johnstone Strait wilderness while we keep an ear open for the Orcas.
